HotelPlanner Acquires PetsWelcome.com for Pet-Friendly Stays

Hotel booking platform HotelPlanner has announced the acquisition of PetsWelcome.com, a platform dedicated to helping travelers find pet-friendly accommodations. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

Founded in 1997 by Chris Kingsley and Fred Grayson, PetsWelcome.com has long connected travelers with hotels and accommodations that cater to pet owners. This acquisition aligns with HotelPlanner’s goal to provide inclusive travel solutions.

“We are thrilled to welcome PetsWelcome.com into the HotelPlanner family,” said Bruce Rosenberg, HotelPlanner’s global president. “This acquisition allows us to better serve millions of pet owners who view their pets as family and want them to join their travel experiences.”

HotelPlanner plans to integrate PetsWelcome.com’s extensive directory and resources into its platform, enhancing its offerings for pet-friendly travel.

Rosenberg added, “Together, we will build on the strong foundation PetsWelcome.com has created and further expand our services for pet-friendly travelers.”

This deal highlights HotelPlanner’s strategy to expand its capabilities and market presence. Past acquisitions include Hotel Hotline in 2016 and Internet Hotels in 2017.

Although HotelPlanner announced plans to merge with Reservations.com and go public in 2021, the merger was canceled in early 2022. This latest acquisition reinforces HotelPlanner’s commitment to diversifying its offerings and addressing evolving travel needs.

The integration of PetsWelcome.com is set to make it easier for pet owners to plan trips with their furry companions, solidifying HotelPlanner’s position in the pet-friendly travel market.
