Caterpillar Inc., the U.S.-based manufacturer of construction, mining, and engineering equipment, has expanded its corporate jet fleet with the addition of a brand-new Gulfstream GVII-G500. The aircraft, registered as N175CT (msn 72141), first entered service on December 23, 2024, with a flight from Savannah International to Fort Worth Alliance, where it is now based, according to ch-aviation research.

This marks the first Gulfstream jet in Caterpillar’s corporate fleet, which has historically been comprised exclusively of Bombardier Business Aircraft. The company’s existing fleet includes two Challenger 604s, with an average age of 19.3 years, and a 14-year-old Global 6000. The addition of the GVII-G500 signifies a strategic investment in newer, more advanced aircraft to enhance Caterpillar’s corporate travel capabilities.

The Gulfstream GVII-G500 is known for its state-of-the-art technology, long-range capabilities, and fuel efficiency, making it an ideal choice for Caterpillar’s global operations. With a maximum range of 5,200 nautical miles and a spacious, customizable cabin, the GVII-G500 offers improved performance and passenger comfort compared to older aircraft models. This addition is likely to support the company’s executives and teams as they travel to Caterpillar’s global offices and project sites.

The move aligns with Caterpillar’s commitment to operational excellence and efficiency, providing enhanced reliability and cutting-edge features to meet the demands of its extensive international business network. The addition of the Gulfstream is a significant step in modernizing Caterpillar’s fleet, ensuring it remains competitive in terms of safety, comfort, and performance in the corporate aviation landscape.
