In 2024, the Iberostar Group marked an exceptional year, closing with revenues of €4.468 billion, a 17 percent increase from the previous year. This impressive growth was driven by the robust performance of its two main divisions: Iberostar Hotels & Resorts and World2Meet. Sabina Fluxá, Vice Chairman and CEO of Iberostar Group, highlighted the year’s success, stating, “2024 has been a record year for Grupo Iberostar. Growth and profitability have worked hand-in-hand, driving sustained progress across all areas of the business.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Fluxá emphasized the company’s commitment to reinforcing its core business strategies. “In 2025 we will continue to reinforce the essential pillars of our business strategy: quality in the customer experience and the training and development of talent, highlighting our responsible tourism model to continue generating a positive impact,” she added. This focus underscores Iberostar’s dedication to maintaining high standards in guest services and sustainable practices.

The hotel division concluded 2024 with a substantial portfolio of 31,500 rooms across 100 properties in 14 countries. Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, announced planned investments approaching €210 million for 2025. “In the hotel division, planned investments for 2025 will approach €210 million, demonstrating our long-term vision and the company’s commitment to delivering new destinations and exceptional experiences for every guest,” Mc Aveety stated. This investment will support the opening of five new beachfront properties, further expanding Iberostar’s presence in key markets.

Following the December 2024 opening of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, the company inaugurated two new hotels in Miami: Iberostar Waves Berkeley Shore and Iberostar Waves Miami Beach. These additions strengthen Iberostar’s footprint in the competitive U.S. market. Additionally, plans for spring 2025 include the opening of Iberostar Selection Es Trenc in Mallorca and Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet in Tunisia. The year will conclude with the opening of Iberostar Selection La Habana under the Iberostar Cuba Hotels & Resorts brand, marking the group’s first presence in Nicaragua.

Iberostar continues to invest in its hotel portfolio in Spain, including locations in Mallorca, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote, as well as in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. These investments are part of Iberostar’s strategy to enhance its offerings and expand its reach in established and emerging markets.

World2Meet, Iberostar Group’s travel division, also had a remarkable year, achieving several milestones. By the end of 2024, World2Fly airline announced new international routes set to commence in 2025, including destinations in La Romana (Dominican Republic) from Madrid, Mauritius (Indian Ocean), and Montego Bay (Jamaica). The airline is expanding its network with consolidated destinations such as Zanzibar and Uzbekistan, alongside the opening of Cali last year. Together with Newblue, its vacation tour operator, World2Meet positions itself as the airline and tour operator with the broadest schedule in the market to the Caribbean, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Cuba, offering a total of 20 weekly frequencies during the summer with direct flights.

Tour operator Newblue has diversified its schedule by incorporating Madeira and Cape Verde, while the group’s tour operator Kannak includes these destinations in its program, consolidating its launch in Latin America and Portugal in 2024. Icárion stands out with innovative proposals in major trips, including the “El gran viaje a través del paladar” (A Journey Through Flavors) initiative. This program combines the passion for exploring the world with the growing interest in gastronomy through unique itineraries led by Michelin-star ambassadors.

Additionally, World2Meet has extended air connections to India, Sri Lanka, and Turkey, reinforced its commitment to Lapland as a star destination, and increased trips in Peru, Costa Rica, and the U.S. GRAND Azulmarino has expanded its network of boutique agencies throughout Spain and launched New Travellers Uppers, a new brand aimed at discerning and experienced travelers. This initiative marks another milestone in World2Meet’s commitment to offering fully customized, high-quality packages.

Overall, the Iberostar Group’s stellar performance in 2024 and its expansive plans for 2025 demonstrate its unwavering commitment to growth, quality, and sustainability in the global hospitality industry. With continued investments and strategic expansions, Iberostar is well-positioned to deliver exceptional experiences and maintain its leadership in the competitive market.
