Fincantieri to Build Four New Record-Breaking Cruise Ships for Norwegian Cruise Line
Fincantieri has officially signed a firm order agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to build four new cruise ships, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between the two companies. Originally announced in April 2024, the deal has now been finalized, with Fincantieri set to deliver the largest vessels ever constructed for Norwegian Cruise Line.
Record-Breaking Ships and Unmatched Capacity
Each of the four new ships will boast a gross tonnage of approximately 226,000 tons, making them the largest vessels ever built for Norwegian. The ships will feature more than 5,100 cabins and have the capacity to accommodate over 8,300 guests, setting new standards for luxury and size in the cruise industry. These ships are expected to offer unparalleled experiences for travelers, with a focus on providing spacious accommodations and a wide array of onboard amenities.
Delivery Timeline
The first of these groundbreaking ships is scheduled to be delivered in 2030, with the subsequent ships slated for completion in 2032, 2034, and 2036, all being built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.

This new agreement further strengthens the relationship between Fincantieri and Norwegian Cruise Line. Fincantieri has already delivered two ships for Norwegian—Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva—and is currently working on the Norwegian Aqua, which is set to debut in April. Additionally, Fincantieri is constructing three other ships for Norwegian, continuing the tradition of innovation and excellence.
