Embraer Order Backlog Hits Record $26.3B in Q4 2024

Brazilian aerospace developer Embraer has reported record-breaking growth in its aircraft order backlog, reaching a staggering $26.3 billion in the final quarter of 2024. In a statement released on February 6, 2025, the company announced that the 2024 order value was the largest ever recorded by Embraer, representing a remarkable 40% increase in volume compared to 2023. This milestone underscores the robust global demand across all segments of the aviation industry, from commercial and executive aircraft to defense and support services.
Embraer’s strong performance in 2024 is further highlighted by its impressive delivery figures. As previously announced in January 2024, the company delivered 206 aircraft during the year, up from 181 in 2023. The Services and Support division also experienced significant growth. In 2024, its backlog increased to $4.6 billion, a 50% rise from 2023. This surge was driven by long-term contracts with major industry players, including Flexjet in the executive aviation sector, and with commercial carriers such as Air Serbia, LOT Polish Airlines, and CommuteAir. These contracts reflect an increasing reliance on comprehensive maintenance, repair, and operational support services that are essential to keeping modern aircraft operating at peak efficiency.
Furthermore, the Defense and Security segment contributed notably to the overall backlog. New orders for four C-390 Millennium transport aircraft and 10 A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft helped the defense backlog climb to $4.2 billion in 2024—a 67% improvement over the previous year. These orders highlight the growing demand among defense customers for advanced, reliable aircraft to support a variety of military applications.
