Wizz Air Unveils New Cabin Design on Airbus A321neo with Enhanced Features

Wizz Air has unveiled its new cabin design on its first Airbus A321neo, marking the start of a refreshed passenger experience that will be featured on all future A321neo and A321XLR deliveries. On February 12, 2025, the airline announced the addition of the aircraft, equipped with the innovative Airbus Airspace Cabin, designed to enhance comfort and improve the overall flying experience for passengers.
A key feature of the new cabin design is an advanced lighting system, which offers multiple settings tailored to various phases of the flight, such as boarding, dining, relaxing, and sleeping. “These lighting schemes are designed to create a soothing and enjoyable atmosphere, ensuring a more pleasant journey for all passengers,” a spokesperson for Wizz Air explained. The ability to adjust lighting to suit different moods during the flight adds a modern touch to the overall cabin experience.
The aircraft also boasts redesigned lavatories that combine sleek aesthetics with state-of-the-art amenities, improving comfort for passengers. Additionally, Wizz Air has introduced spacious overhead compartments on this A321neo, offering more room for passengers’ luggage and personal belongings, making it easier to store and access items during the flight.
“Wizz Air is the first European low-cost airline to equip its aircraft with the Airspace Standard Overhead Stowage Compartments for enhanced comfort,” the spokesperson confirmed. This upgrade further differentiates Wizz Air from other budget carriers, offering a premium touch to their low-cost service.
For passengers with visual impairments, the cabin is fully equipped with braille signage throughout, including row number indicators and lavatory signs. This move aligns with Wizz Air’s commitment to accessibility and providing a more inclusive flying experience for all.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Airbus Airspace cabin to our fleet, setting a new standard for passenger experience at Wizz Air,” said Michael Delehant, Senior Chief Commercial and Operations Officer at Wizz Air. “This refreshed design, with its cutting-edge features and enhanced accessibility, represents our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible journey for all travelers.”
Wizz Air continues to expand its A321neo fleet, with the latest order for 75 more units placed in August 2023, bringing the total order for this aircraft type to over 400. The airline is also preparing to receive its first A321XLR in the next two months. Wizz Air had placed an order for 44 of these long-range, single-aisle aircraft, and it is expected to take delivery of its first unit soon.
The A321XLR, which offers a range of 4,700 nautical miles and can fly for up to 11 hours, has been hailed as a game-changer for single-aisle aircraft, allowing airlines to offer non-stop long-haul services to destinations that would typically require a widebody jet. Wizz Air’s first A321XLR route will operate from London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia starting in March 2025.
With the introduction of these new aircraft and cabin upgrades, Wizz Air is setting a high standard for low-cost carriers, blending modern comfort with affordability. These enhancements reflect the airline’s ongoing efforts to elevate its passenger experience while expanding its global reach.
