Recently, Carnival’s top executives—including President Christine Duffy, CEO Josh Weinstein of Carnival Corporation & plc, and Chief Maritime Officer Lars Ljoen—visited the site as construction enters its final phases. Their tour provided a rare behind-the-scenes look at Celebration Key, showcasing the destination’s five distinct “portals to paradise.” These portals represent various themed areas designed to offer guests unique experiences ranging from serene relaxation to engaging recreational activities.
One of the most striking features of Celebration Key is the signature Suncastle, which serves as the centerpiece of the destination. In a nod to maritime tradition, Carnival leaders ceremonially placed commemorative keys into the Suncastle, mirroring the keel laying process typically seen with new ship construction. During the site visit, leaders participated in the “Plant a Tree” initiative that launched last year. “We broke ground on this site less than three years ago, and now in five short months we’ll see our first guests enjoy the many experiences we created just for them to celebrate and enjoy this gorgeous place on Grand Bahama,” said President Christine Duffy.
