Amadeus Achieves Double-Digit Growth, Strong 2024 Results

Amadeus, the Spain-based technology company, reported a significant revenue increase in its 2024 financial year, with group revenue reaching €6.1 billion, marking a 13% rise from the previous year. The company’s EBITDA also grew by 13% to €2.3 billion, while operating income surged by 18% to €1.6 billion, and adjusted profit escalated by nearly 20% to €1.3 billion.
In the fourth quarter alone, Amadeus generated €1.5 billion in revenue, up almost 14% year-over-year. This growth was driven by strong performances across its business sectors. The air distribution segment saw a 14% increase in quarterly revenue to €715 million, culminating in a yearly total of €2.9 billion, up almost 11%. Meanwhile, revenue from air IT solutions rose by 15% in the quarter to €569 million and 16% annually to €2.2 billion.
The hospitality solutions business also showed robust growth, with an 11% increase in the fourth quarter to €257 million and a 12% rise for the year, reaching €991 million.
Luis Maroto, President and CEO of Amadeus, highlighted the company’s robust performance, stating, “In 2024, we demonstrated our strength, delivering solid double-digit growth and expanding profitability, fueled by all areas of our business.” He also announced a new share repurchase program with a maximum investment of €1,300 million to be executed over the next 12 months.
Looking forward, Amadeus anticipates continued growth in 2025, with revenue expected to increase by 9% to 13% and EBITDA by up to 12%. The company remains committed to transforming the travel industry, evidenced by recent partnerships with major airlines like Air France-KLM for the Amadeus Nevio and acquisitions in biometrics and payment technologies.
