Canadian manufacturer Bombardier celebrated a major milestone on February 27, 2025, with the delivery of its 1,000th super-mid-size aircraft—a Challenger 3500 business jet—to JM Family Enterprises. The special ceremony, held at Bombardier’s Challenger delivery center in Montréal, was attended by more than 700 employees and distinguished guests, highlighting the company’s long-standing legacy in the business aviation industry.

“Reaching the delivery of our 1,000th super-midsize aircraft marks a defining moment for Bombardier,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, during the event. “Challenger super-midsize aircraft have been a game changer in the industry as they defined a new business jet segment, and we are excited to continue building on this legacy.”

The Challenger 3500, a modernized version of Bombardier’s best-selling Challenger 350, is acclaimed as one of the most sought-after aircraft in its category. Among its innovative features, the aircraft boasts a voice-controlled cabin and incorporates advanced elements from Bombardier’s ultra-long-range Global 7500, including the Nuage seat. This patented seat employs a tilt link system designed to provide a neutral body posture, enhancing comfort and circulation during long flights.

In a pioneering move towards environmental responsibility, the Challenger 3500 holds an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)—a distinction that all of Bombardier’s in-production aircraft share. Bombardier remains the only business jet manufacturer to publish EPDs for its models, reaffirming its commitment to transparency in environmental performance. Moreover, all operational flights of these aircraft are powered by Sustainable Aviation Fuel through the innovative Book-and-Claim system, underlining Bombardier’s dedication to sustainable aviation.

For the past 20 years, Bombardier’s aircraft have dominated their class as best-sellers, and the Challenger 3500 continues that winning streak. In 2024, it led its segment as the most delivered jet, a testament to its popularity and the trust it has garnered among business jet customers worldwide.

This milestone not only marks a significant achievement for Bombardier but also signals a promising future for the business aviation industry as it evolves to meet modern technological and environmental standards. With continuous innovation and a commitment to sustainability, Bombardier is well-positioned to drive further growth and redefine the standards of luxury and performance in the business jet market.
