SPARFELL Luftfahrt Inducts First GVII-G500 Jet
SPARFELL Luftfahrt, based in Vienna (LDX), has taken a major step forward in modernizing its executive jet fleet with the delivery of its first GVII-G500. The aircraft, registered as OE-IDZ (msn 72151), was ferried from Gulfstream Aerospace’s facilities at Savannah International to Vienna on March 3, 2025. This milestone marks the beginning of an ambitious fleet expansion plan for SPARFELL Luftfahrt as it aims to boost its presence in the business aviation market.
The newly inducted GVII-G500 is the first of three aircraft that SPARFELL expects to take into its fleet during the first half of 2025. In an exclusive interview with ch-aviation in late 2024, managing director Bernhard Wipfler confirmed the company’s plans to further diversify its portfolio by adding two Bombardier Business Aircraft. One of these is expected to be registered in Austria, while the other will likely join the air operator’s certificate (AOC) of SPARFELL Malta, reinforcing the group’s multinational operational footprint.
The GVII-G500 represents a significant technological and performance upgrade for SPARFELL Luftfahrt. Known for its efficiency, advanced avionics, and comfortable cabin configuration, the GVII-G500 is well suited for the demands of modern corporate travel. With a proven track record in reliability and operating cost-effectiveness, the aircraft is expected to contribute positively to SPARFELL’s charter and executive travel services, enhancing its competitive edge in the region.
SPARFELL’s Austrian fleet now comprises a total of 17 aircraft, reflecting its commitment to maintaining a state-of-the-art fleet that caters to a variety of mission profiles. Alongside the newly added GVII-G500, the fleet includes an ACJ319-100, which is anticipated to enter service by summer 2025, two Challenger 300s, three Challenger 350s, a Global Express XRS, two Global 7500s, a Citation Jet 2+, a Falcon 7X, a Legacy 500, a Praetor 600, and a G280. Additionally, the fleet is rounded out with both a G650(ER) and a G650ER, offering a broad spectrum of capabilities for diverse travel requirements.
On the other side, SPARFELL Malta already operates a GVII-G500, which was inducted in 2023, along with a Global 6000, a Global 6500, and a Global 7500. This multinational approach not only underscores the group’s extensive reach but also highlights its ability to serve different markets effectively. The expansion in Austria is seen as a strategic move to further consolidate its position in the European executive aviation market.
