Fox Aviation Expands Fleet with Embraer Jets and Citation Jet 2+
Fox Aviation is set to expand its fleet and launch Embraer Executive Jets operations by adding a Legacy 600 and a Legacy 650, while also resuming operations with the Citation Jet 2+ after a six-month pause. Chief operating officer Srdjan Petrovic shared the news on LinkedIn, highlighting that these new additions will enhance the operator’s service offerings and further strengthen its position in the competitive aviation market.
The Legacy 600, identified as S5-BTC with msn 14501100, is a 15.8-year-old aircraft that was previously operated by Poland’s Jet Story under the registration SP-DLB. This aircraft was last active on December 2, 2024, operating flights between Katowice Pyrzowice and London Stansted under Jet Story’s ‘JDI’ code. Currently undergoing maintenance at London Stansted, the Legacy 600 is being prepped to enter service with Fox Aviation. Although Jet Story continues to operate another Legacy 600 and an additional unit has been stored at Istanbul Atatürk since October 2023, Fox Aviation’s acquisition signals a deliberate move to broaden its fleet with proven and versatile aircraft.
In addition to the Legacy 600, Fox Aviation has confirmed plans to add a Legacy 650 to its operations. While specific details such as the aircraft’s registration and serial number have not been disclosed, the move underscores the operator’s commitment to modernizing its fleet with state-of-the-art Embraer jets. The introduction of the Legacy 650 is expected to offer enhanced comfort and efficiency, further appealing to customers seeking premium executive jet services.
Simultaneously, the operator is reintroducing the Citation Jet 2+ type into its fleet with the addition of the Citation Jet 2+ S5-ETH, bearing msn 525A-0480. Previously operated by Germany’s ProAir Aviation as D-IBTC, this 13.5-year-old aircraft was last active on September 17, 2024, when it flew from Bremen Hans Koschnick to Ljubljana under ProAir’s ‘PAV’ code. Although the Citation Jet 2+ has not yet entered service with Fox Aviation, expectations are high for its imminent debut, which marks the return of the type to the operator’s fleet following the retirement of its only previous Citation Jet 2+.
These new aircraft additions will join Fox Aviation’s existing fleet, which already includes a 24.1-year-old Slovenian-registered Citation Bravo and a 25.3-year-old Citation Jet that was formerly registered in Slovenia and has recently been re-registered in San Marino. This diverse mix of aircraft reflects Fox Aviation’s strategic approach to fleet versatility, allowing the operator to offer tailored services that meet a range of customer needs—from flights to smaller airstrips with efficient PC-12 alternatives to longer journeys requiring more spacious jets.
By bolstering its fleet with a mix of Embraer Executive Jets and revitalized Citation models, Fox Aviation is poised to offer enhanced operational flexibility and improved service quality.
