Texas Luxury: New Waldorf Astoria Unveiled

Hilton has announced an exciting new branding and management agreement with Wine Country Hospitality Partners LLC for the upcoming Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country and Waldorf Astoria Residences Texas Hill Country, set to open in 2027. This landmark project marks the debut of the first Texas Waldorf Astoria property and represents a major milestone in expanding Hilton’s luxury portfolio across the Americas, while celebrating over a century of Conrad Hilton’s legacy in Texas. The resort and residences are poised to become the centerpiece of a dynamic destination in the heart of Texas Hill Country, renowned as the state’s most popular wine-tasting region and the second most visited wine country in the United States.
Located less than a mile from downtown Fredericksburg, the new property offers a central location for visitors eager to explore the rolling vineyards, scenic hills, and charming historic streets that define the region. Nestled against sprawling vineyards and surrounded by wildflowers and farms, this destination is ideally positioned just 75 miles west of Austin and 65 miles northwest of San Antonio, making it an accessible retreat for both locals and travelers alike. The resort will feature 60 guest rooms and suites designed with authentically Texan elements, including expansive Hill Country views, private plunge pools, outdoor courtyards, and specially curated programming that showcases the area’s rich culture and natural beauty.
In addition to the guest accommodations, the property will offer 37 branded multi-bedroom resort villas, which are eligible to participate in a hotel rental program, providing guests with the flexibility to experience the luxury of Waldorf Astoria living in a home-away-from-home setting. The project further expands its offerings with 50 branded private residences, including 87 Waldorf Astoria Residences that range from single-story estates and villas to charming cottage-style Sunday homes with three to five bedrooms. Fifty of these residences will feature waterside views of Baron’s Creek and the surrounding rolling hills, offering residents an unparalleled connection to the landscape while enjoying access to the resort’s full suite of epicurean and wellness amenities.
The resort will also boast five food and beverage concepts, an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, and two resort-style pools, ensuring that guests have an array of options to relax, dine, and rejuvenate. Amy King, vice president of luxury and mixed-use development at Hilton, noted that this project is integral to the company’s growth in Texas, a region that represents Hilton’s largest hotel portfolio in the United States. She emphasized that the development reflects Hilton’s commitment to delivering on Conrad Hilton’s vision and expanding its distinguished luxury hotel and residential portfolio.
Developers Mark Harmon, Robert Radovan, and Tim Sparapani have each expressed their enthusiasm for the project. Harmon highlighted the creation of a destination with a true sense of place, inviting both new and long-time patrons to experience Fredericksburg’s charm through a fresh lens. Radovan emphasized the significant shift this project represents for Texas hospitality, combining renowned service and luxury with the unique potential of the region. Sparapani shared his excitement for crafting an unparalleled luxury retreat that builds on Fredericksburg’s reputation as a destination for relaxation and rejuvenation.
This collaboration between Hilton and Wine Country Hospitality Partners is set to redefine luxury in Texas Hill Country, creating a destination that not only honors the rich history and natural splendor of the region but also offers modern comforts and exceptional service for discerning travelers and future residents alike.
