Best Jets Restarts Citation Ops with Sovereign Addition

Best Jets International has resumed charter operations with Citation-series aircraft following the recent addition of a Citation Sovereign to its Part 135 fleet. The St. Paul Holman Downtown-based operator had previously retired its only Citation jet, a Citation Excel, in late 2024.

The newly added Citation Sovereign, registered N6464 (msn 680-0158), is a 17.6-year-old business jet configured to carry up to eight passengers. It became active under Best Jets International’s ‘DOW’ code on March 7, 2025, with flights between St. Paul Holman Downtown and Minneapolis Flying Cloud Airport.

Originally delivered to a U.S. operator, the aircraft was exported to Canada in 2008 and later reimported into the United States in 2021. Until recently, it was operated privately before being added to the Best Jets charter fleet.

With the addition of the Sovereign, Best Jets International has strengthened its midsize jet offerings for charter clients. The company’s diverse Part 135 fleet now includes two Challenger 300s, a Falcon 900, a Falcon 900DX, a Falcon 2000, a Gulfstream GV, a G550, and two Embraer E170s, in addition to the Citation Sovereign.

The return of Citation operations reflects Best Jets’ strategy to diversify its fleet to meet a wide range of customer needs, from regional business travel to long-range international charters. The addition of the Sovereign offers a blend of range, comfort, and performance ideal for midsize charter missions across North America.
