Emirates Expands Network with Upgraded Boeing 777
Emirates is set to broaden its global footprint as it announces a series of new destinations that will be served by its fleet of retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft with upgraded cabin interiors. The airline, renowned for its commitment to luxury and innovation, revealed that a new refurbished Boeing 777 is rolled out every three weeks, as part of an ongoing program to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency. By September 2025, Emirates plans to serve 44 cities with its fleet of renewed Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, reinforcing its market leadership in long-haul travel.
Among the latest additions to the network, passengers will soon be able to fly to Lisbon, Dublin, Hong Kong, Male, Kolkata, Colombo, Johannesburg, and Cape Town using the updated Boeing 777. The new service from Lisbon Airport (LIS) is scheduled to commence on June 1, 2025, while flights from Dublin Airport (DUB) will begin on June 25, 2025. In early July, Emirates will launch flights to Hong Kong International Airport and Male International Airport (MLE) simultaneously on July 15, 2025. The airline is also expanding its presence in the South Asian market, with services from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) starting on August 10, 2025, and from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) on the same day. In Africa, Emirates is set to serve Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) from September 1, 2025, followed by Cape Town International Airport (CPT) from September 20, 2025. In addition to these launches, London Stansted Airport (STD) will receive its second daily service operated by the refreshed Boeing 777 fleet.
The retrofitted Boeing 777, a key element in Emirates’ fleet modernization strategy, now boasts a sophisticated four-class configuration that underlines the airline’s dedication to providing a premium travel experience. The updated interior design features eight luxurious First Class suites, offering unparalleled privacy and comfort, while 40 Business Class seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration to ensure direct aisle access for all passengers.
