Air Canada Launches Montreal-Edinburgh Service
Air Canada is set to introduce a new seasonal direct service between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) to strengthen connections between Canada and Scotland. Operating three times weekly during the peak summer period from June 27, 2025 to September 7, 2025, this new route offers a fresh option for travelers seeking to explore cultural, business, and tourism opportunities between the two regions. The flights will be operated using the airline’s Boeing B737 MAX 8 aircraft in a dual-class configuration, featuring 16 premium economy seats alongside 153 economy seats to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers.
Under the new schedule, flight AC936 will depart Montréal at 21:50 local time on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Edinburgh at 09:15 local time the following day. Conversely, flight AC937 will leave Edinburgh at 11:15 local time on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving back in Montréal at 13:35 local time. This carefully planned timetable is designed to offer convenient options for both business and leisure travelers, ensuring a seamless travel experience on both legs of the journey.
The introduction of this direct route between Montréal and Edinburgh marks a significant expansion of Air Canada’s network, complementing its existing daily service connecting Edinburgh to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YTO). As the sole direct connection between Scotland and Montréal, the new service is expected to further enhance the strong business, tourism, and cultural ties that exist between Scotland and Canada.
Air Canada’s Senior Director of Sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Margaret Skinner, highlighted the importance of this market by stating that Edinburgh has always been a key destination for the airline. She expressed pride in the airline’s efforts to expand its presence in the region and emphasized that the new route will provide additional travel options for customers, ultimately reinforcing Air Canada’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its passengers.
By launching the Montreal-Edinburgh service, Air Canada aims to capitalize on increasing demand for international travel during the summer season, while also offering competitive, high-quality service with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
