Emerald Cruises has unveiled a major expansion plan that will transform its boutique superyacht portfolio and mark its entry into European river cruising. The luxury cruise provider announced the addition of two new superyachts and one new river ship, setting the stage for an enhanced guest experience across warm-weather seasons and prestigious itineraries. The upcoming expansion includes the launch of Emerald Kaia and Emerald Astra in April 2026, followed by the debut of Emerald Raiya and Emerald Xara in 2027, with the new river vessel, Emerald Lumi, scheduled to begin Seine River operations in 2027.

The two new superyachts are designed to offer an unparalleled travel experience for up to 128 guests with all-suite accommodations. Guests will enjoy a spacious Sky Deck, a swim-up marina platform, a dedicated spa and fitness area, and multiple dining venues that emphasize refined cuisine and exceptional service. Every element of the design has been meticulously planned to combine luxury with functionality and environmental sensitivity. Emerald Raiya will debut in winter 2026, initially cruising in the Seychelles before transitioning to the Eastern Mediterranean in summer 2027, and then returning to the Seychelles for its second winter season. This seasonal deployment is expected to optimize guest experiences in diverse, idyllic destinations.

In an interesting twist, Emerald Kaia will be redeployed to the Caribbean for the winter season of 2026. Passengers who were previously booked on the Seychelles itinerary aboard Emerald Kaia will be contacted to transfer their bookings to Emerald Raiya. Meanwhile, Emerald Xara will debut in summer 2027, offering itineraries in the Mediterranean during its first season before moving to the Caribbean for the winter period. These strategic deployments underscore Emerald Cruises’ commitment to providing high-quality experiences across different regions and seasons. Select voyages for Emerald Yacht Cruises will open for booking in June 2025, giving travelers an early opportunity to experience the enhanced offerings.

Complementing the superyacht expansion is the launch of Emerald Lumi, the brand’s first river ship purpose-built for the Seine River. This innovative vessel will offer travelers an intimate experience, sailing from Paris to Normandy with round-trip itineraries that include overnight stays and extended port visits. Onboard, guests will enjoy authentic French cuisine and regional programming that celebrates the rich culinary heritage and history of the region. Glen Moroney, chairman and founder of Scenic Group, described the new vessel as a natural evolution for Emerald Cruises, emphasizing that the Seine’s romance and cultural depth perfectly align with the brand’s commitment to delivering memorable experiences.

Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group for USA and LATAM, noted that these new sailings allow the company to expand the guest experience into more warm-weather seasons. He highlighted that the enhanced superyacht product will offer even more ways to enjoy exotic destinations from the Seychelles to the Caribbean, reinforcing Emerald Cruises’ reputation as a leader in luxury and boutique cruising. With these ambitious plans, Emerald Cruises is poised to not only expand its fleet but also to elevate the standards of personalized, high-end cruising, promising guests unforgettable voyages across some of the world’s most enchanting waterways.
