Luxury hospitality brand Aman is bringing its first-ever resort to the Bahamas with the announcement of Amancaya, a $260 million development set across two private cays in the Exuma Islands. The project, revealed by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, marks a significant milestone for both the Aman brand and the nation’s high-end tourism sector.

Amancaya will span 400 acres of remote island landscape and include a 36-pavilion resort, a collection of exclusive Aman Residences, a beach club, an Aman spa, and several signature dining experiences. The development promises to blend Aman’s signature understated elegance with the natural beauty of the Exuma archipelago, long admired for its turquoise waters and pristine beaches.

As Aman’s first foray into the Bahamian market, the project is being positioned as a symbol of the brand’s growing global footprint and a reflection of rising demand for sustainable luxury in the Caribbean. Aman already operates 36 properties across 20 countries, with iconic locations in Venice, Tokyo, New York, and Kyoto.

In addition to its luxury appeal, Amancaya is expected to generate substantial economic benefits for the local community. According to government officials, the development will create over 500 jobs, including 200 during the construction phase and 300 permanent positions once the resort is operational. The Ministry of Tourism emphasized the project’s commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs, enhancing training programs, and promoting long-term economic growth in the Exumas.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper praised the development, noting that Aman’s arrival reflects the strength of the Bahamas’ position as a premier luxury destination. He also highlighted the project’s emphasis on eco-friendly, sustainable practices that align with the country’s development goals.

“Aman’s entry into The Bahamas reflects the strength of our tourism sector as a premier luxury destination and the growing demand for eco-friendly sustainable development,” said Cooper. “Aman’s ultra-luxury lifestyle brand is a good fit for Exuma, and we look forward to the ground-breaking of this investment that will deliver meaningful, measurable long-term impact.”

With Amancaya, Aman is poised to deliver a new level of luxury and exclusivity to the Bahamas while contributing to local job creation and sustainable tourism growth. The resort’s remote setting, private island experience, and upscale design are expected to appeal to high-net-worth travelers seeking privacy, tranquility, and exceptional service in a naturally stunning location.
