Norwegian Aqua Elevates Prima Plus Class Experience

Norwegian Cruise Line has raised the bar on ocean travel with the introduction of Norwegian Aqua, the first vessel in its Prima Plus Class that builds on the acclaimed designs of sister ships Norwegian Prima and Viva. At 156,300 gross tons and accommodating 3,571 guests, Aqua is ten percent larger than her predecessors and makes the most of every inch of space. During a recent New York City visit, the ship’s refreshed layout and brand-new attractions were immediately apparent, from expanded luxury suites to a thrilling Aqua Slidecoaster on Deck 17. The iconic Haven enclave has been moved aft to create room for 123 suites—up from 107—including four stunning two-story, three-bedroom duplex accommodations. Beyond The Haven, Aqua offers 1,659 additional staterooms across six categories, from solo-friendly Inside Studios to spacious Balcony, Oceanview and Suite configurations, ensuring that every traveler finds the perfect retreat at sea.
Dining aboard Norwegian Aqua blends global flavors with innovative service models. Deck 17’s new Aqua Slidecoaster winds past Sukhothai, a vibrant Thai restaurant replacing Food Republic, where guests can share signature dishes like pad thai, red curry and salt-and-pepper prawns under swaying palms. The Gigantic Indulge Food Hall continues to impress with touch-screen ordering and recently added Planterie, a fully plant-based concept that serves colorful, health-forward meals. Meanwhile, the Commodore Room has nearly doubled in size, providing an elegant setting for multi-course dinners, and the beloved Hudson’s main dining room remains a sophisticated option for classic fine-dining experiences. Together, these venues showcase Norwegian’s commitment to culinary variety and quality, giving guests the freedom to explore new tastes without leaving the ship.
Public spaces on Aqua redefine fun at sea. The former racetrack has given way to the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide that thrills riders around the upper decks while clearing space for a larger pool and expanded Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only sanctuary available for a supplemental charge. Beverage options have also multiplied: the new Swirl Wine Bar on Deck 6 and a relocated Whiskey Bar invite guests to sample curated vintages and rare spirits, while the Belvedere Bar, now nestled in the dramatic Penrose Atrium on Deck 8, offers memorable nighttime vistas. Day-to-night entertainment finds a home in the revamped Metropolitan Bar, where live performances complement expertly mixed cocktails, and Glow Court on Deck 20 invites friendly competition on an interactive LED-lit sports floor.
Aqua’s first signature production, “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince,” captures the rock icon’s energy with renditions of “Purple Rain,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and other classics, giving theatergoers a taste of 1980s funk and flair. Guests boarding in Port Canaveral for seven-day Eastern Caribbean sailings will call on Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay, enjoying everything from white-sand beaches to vibrant island markets. This summer and fall, Norwegian Aqua will reposition to New York City for Bermuda voyages before moving to Miami for Eastern Caribbean cruises from October 2025 through April 2026. Her Prima Plus sister, Norwegian Luna, is set to debut in spring 2026, promising further fleet expansion.
With its blend of expanded luxury accommodations, dynamic dining choices and next-generation entertainment and leisure features, Norwegian Aqua exemplifies Norwegian Cruise Line’s vision for modern cruising. By leveraging additional space to enhance guest experiences—from The Haven’s duplex suites to the adrenaline rush of the Slidecoaster—Aqua invites travelers to explore both new destinations and new ways to enjoy life at sea. Whether cruising through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean or challenging friends to Glow Court games under the stars, passengers will discover that Prima Plus Class delivers an immersive, unforgettable journey tailored to every traveler’s tastes.
