Air Canada has launched a new seasonal service connecting Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) with Porto (OPO) on Portugal’s Atlantic coast. The route, which began on June 4, 2025, will operate three times weekly through the end of August, expanding the airline’s European network and reinforcing its presence in Portugal.

The inaugural flight, AC928, departed Montréal at 22:24 local time and landed in Porto at 09:19 the next morning, covering the 3,199-mile (5,118 km) route in just under six hours. The service is operated by Air Canada’s Airbus A330-300, configured with 297 seats across business, premium economy, and economy classes.

Flights will depart Montréal at 21:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Porto the following morning at 09:20. The return flight, AC929, will depart Porto at 11:20 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, landing in Montréal at 13:45. The final outbound flight is scheduled for August 28, 2025, with the last return leg on August 26, 2025.

Porto is now Air Canada’s second Portuguese destination, complementing its existing flights to Lisbon from both Montréal and Toronto. “We are delighted to be returning to Porto,” said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s EVP & CCO. “This new route enhances our European offerings and gives travelers more access to Portugal’s rich history and northern region.”

This launch is part of Air Canada’s broader 2025 European expansion, which includes new routes to Naples, Prague, and Edinburgh, as well as the resumed Ottawa–London Heathrow service.
