Celestyal Cruises has appointed John Diorio as its new vice president and managing director for North America, signaling the company’s focus on expanding its presence in the region.

In his new role, Diorio will oversee Celestyal’s strategic business plan for the North American market and lead the development of the line’s travel advisor engagement strategy. The appointment comes as Celestyal reports a 25 percent year-over-year increase in North American guests.

“I’m incredibly excited to join Celestyal at this pivotal time of growth and partnership expansion,” said Diorio. “I look forward to working with this dynamic team to achieve our shared goals and further strengthen relationships with the travel advisor community in North America.”

Diorio brings extensive cruise and travel industry experience to Celestyal. He previously served as vice president of North American sales for Virgin Voyages, director of sales at The Mark Travel Corporation, and vice president of affiliate marketing for Hotels.com.

Based in central Florida, Diorio will report directly to Lee Haslett, Celestyal’s chief commercial officer. “We are thrilled to welcome John to the Celestyal team,” said Haslett. “His deep knowledge of the North American cruise market and strong ties with the travel trade make him the ideal leader to drive our growth and expand our advisor partnerships.”

The appointment supports Celestyal’s ongoing investment in key international markets as it looks to strengthen its brand and distribution network across North America.
