Global Airline Route Updates: New Flights, Codeshares, Expansions

The latest airline route updates feature new services, network changes, codeshares, and expanded schedules worldwide.
United Airlines has launched seasonal summer service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Nuuk Airport (GOH) in Greenland, marking the first nonstop U.S.-Greenland flights since 2008. Operated 2X-weekly with Boeing 737-8 aircraft, this is currently the only nonstop link between the two countries.
Wizz Air announced new service between Naples Airport (NAP) and Timisoara, Romania, starting October 14, operating 3X-weekly. As part of its Naples expansion, Wizz Air will also begin flights to Brasov, Chisinau, Sharm El Sheikh, Yerevan, and Tel Aviv, supported by the addition of a second A321neo based at NAP.
Azerbaijan Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways signed a codeshare agreement, adding shared services on Baku-Tashkent routes with up to nine weekly flights. Uzbekistan Airways will also codeshare on Azerbaijan Airlines’ Baku-Samarkand service, expanding transit options through both hubs.
Russia’s IrAero Airlines will launch 2X-weekly service between Moscow Domodedovo and Gabala International Airport (GBB), Azerbaijan, starting July 1. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi begins 3X-weekly service from Abu Dhabi to Gabala on June 19, further expanding connectivity.
Turkish Airlines increased frequencies from Istanbul (IST) to multiple UK destinations. London Heathrow now operates 47X-weekly, Gatwick 28X-weekly, Manchester 28X-weekly, Birmingham 18X-weekly, and Edinburgh 14X-weekly. Flights to Dublin increased to 21X-weekly.
Spirit Airlines entered Chattanooga (CHA) and Columbia (CAE), offering flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Newark from both airports with varying weekly frequencies.
Latvia’s airBaltic reported 458,900 passengers in May, up 6% year-over-year, despite fewer flights. The airline plans new winter routes including Riga-Faro, Tallinn-Madeira, and Gran Canaria-Ljubljana.
Jazeera Airways launched its first nonstop route from Kuwait (KWI) to Budapest (BUD), operating 2X-weekly through mid-September.
