Drunk Plane Passenger Attacks Woman Over Seat Dispute

A disruptive passenger sparked chaos aboard a Southwest Airlines flight at New York’s LaGuardia Airport after launching a violent tirade against a fellow female traveler whom she reportedly deemed “too fat” to sit beside. The incident occurred early Monday and resulted in multiple physical assaults before takeoff.

According to witnesses and authorities, the intoxicated woman became verbally abusive before escalating into physical violence. She allegedly pulled the other passenger’s hair, spat in her face, and even kicked her during the outburst. Flight attendants attempted to intervene, but the aggressive passenger also turned on airline staff, kicking one Southwest employee and resisting their efforts to calm the situation.

The altercation forced Southwest Airlines to delay the flight, and Port Authority police were called to remove the woman from the aircraft. She was later taken into custody and now faces potential assault charges and a ban from future travel with the airline.

Footage of the event has since gone viral online, adding to growing concerns about passenger behavior and in-flight safety. Airlines across the U.S. have faced increased incidents of disruptive conduct, often involving intoxicated individuals.

Southwest Airlines released a statement confirming the altercation and praising their crew’s quick response. “The safety and comfort of our passengers and employees remain our top priority,” the airline said.

The assaulted passenger was evaluated but did not require hospitalization. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.

This event underscores the ongoing need for stricter enforcement of passenger conduct policies on commercial flights.
