Green Card and Visa Holders Face Reentry Concerns When Traveling

Many U.S. green card and visa holders are reconsidering international travel due to growing concerns about reentry into the country. Reports from travel professionals indicate rising anxiety among travelers who fear increased scrutiny at U.S. borders.

Ted Bradpiece, owner of Explorer Travel Services in Canyon Country, California, told Travel Weekly that some of his green card-holding clients are canceling or delaying international trips. According to Bradpiece, these travelers worry they could face extended questioning, delays, or even revocation of their immigration status upon returning to the U.S.

“There are a lot of concerns now, and it’s going to get worse with the new travel bans,” Bradpiece explained. He noted that his clients are uneasy about whether their visas will remain valid and if they’ll be allowed to reenter.

This sentiment is reportedly growing among immigrant communities, especially as new immigration policies and proposed travel restrictions add to the uncertainty. While official guidelines remain unchanged for most green card and visa holders, the fear of being caught in a legal or administrative limbo at a port of entry is leading many to avoid international travel altogether.

Bradpiece described the mood as cautious, saying, “It’s a situation right now where everyone’s just kind of holding tight. Nobody knows what’s going to happen.”
