Porter Airlines to Launch Caribbean Flights in Late 2025

Porter Airlines has confirmed its first international expansion beyond Canada and the United States, with new services to the Caribbean and Latin America starting in the fourth quarter of 2025. The airline will launch flights to five leisure destinations: Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Guanacaste.

“These are Porter’s first routes outside of our longtime presence throughout Canada and the U.S.,” said Kevin Jackson, president of Porter Airlines. “This marks a significant milestone in our international growth strategy.”

The new routes will be operated using the airline’s Embraer E195-E2 fleet and will depart from key Canadian gateways. Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, and Nassau will be served from Toronto Pearson, Ottawa International, and Hamilton, while Grand Cayman and Guanacaste will be connected via Toronto and Ottawa. The flights are scheduled to begin between November 5 and December 19, 2025.

Porter Airlines is coordinating its schedules with Air Transat under a joint venture agreement to optimize connectivity to the region. This partnership is expected to strengthen both carriers’ presence in the sun and leisure travel markets.

The expansion aligns with Porter’s strategic use of its growing E195-E2 fleet. The airline currently operates 44 of these jets alongside 29 DHC-8-Q400 turboprops.

The addition of Caribbean and Latin American destinations marks an important step in Porter’s evolution into a more global carrier, offering Canadians more options for warm-weather travel directly from key eastern Canadian cities.
