Bombardier Lands $1.7B Jet Deal With New Customer

Canadian aerospace giant Bombardier has secured a major firm order for 50 aircraft valued at $1.7 billion, marking one of the largest recent deals in the business aviation sector. The order includes jets from the company’s flagship Challenger and Global series, and features a first-of-its-kind service agreement. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.
The unnamed buyer, described by Bombardier as a first-time customer, also holds an option to purchase 70 additional aircraft. If fully exercised, the total value of the deal would exceed $4 billion. The company has not disclosed the buyer’s identity, though it said the client intends to reveal the deal more publicly in the near future.
Bombardier’s Challenger and Global business jet families are recognized worldwide for their performance, reliability, and luxury-focused design. Among the most popular models are the ultra-long-range Global 7500 and the forthcoming Global 8000, both known for their expansive, customizable cabins and industry-leading range. The Challenger line, meanwhile, remains a staple in the midsize jet market.
“This significant order underscores the competitive advantage Bombardier’s full scope of products and services brings to customers throughout the entire aircraft lifecycle,” said Eric Martel, Bombardier’s president and CEO. He emphasized the role of Bombardier’s 18,000 employees in building global trust through service and product excellence, adding that the company is proud to welcome a new customer into its fold.
The deal further cements Bombardier’s leadership in the global business aviation market and highlights growing demand for high-performance private jets amid rising interest from new entrants.
