AirAsia has revealed a new special livery on one of its Airbus A320 aircraft to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. The aircraft, registered as HS-BBR, features a striking design that highlights cultural symbols from both nations. A Chinese dragon and Thailand’s mythical Naga serpent are prominently displayed, representing the friendship and shared heritage between the two countries.

In addition to the bold imagery, the fuselage bears greetings in both Chinese and Thai, reinforcing the aircraft’s role as a “flying ambassador” of goodwill. The livery will be seen on both domestic and international routes, symbolizing unity and cultural appreciation wherever it flies.

Thai AirAsia CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship, especially in tourism, where China and Thailand remain top destinations for each other’s citizens. The recent implementation of mutual visa exemptions has further strengthened travel ties, making cross-border tourism more convenient and appealing.

Klongchaiya highlighted that China continues to be one of AirAsia’s most important markets. The airline currently offers the highest number of direct connections between Thailand and China, serving 10 cities across the country. These include Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Changsha, Wuhan, Kunming, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Shanghai.

With this new livery and expanding connectivity, AirAsia continues to reinforce its commitment to cultural diplomacy and regional tourism, marking a significant milestone in the longstanding friendship between China and Thailand.
