Carnival Liberty Returns to New Orleans After Major Upgrade

Carnival Liberty has officially returned to service in New Orleans following a recent dry dock that introduced a range of exciting upgrades and enhancements. The newly refurbished ship welcomed guests aboard on Sunday for its first post-renovation sailing, a week-long cruise to the Caribbean.
Now sailing alongside its refreshed sister ship, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty features a variety of new amenities designed to elevate the onboard experience. One highlight is the addition of the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a signature Carnival venue honoring military service members and their families.
Guests can also enjoy the brand-new WaterWorks aqua park with colorful waterslides, a redesigned mini golf course, and a completely reimagined Cloud9 Spa. The spa now includes upgraded beauty stations, modern fitness equipment, steam rooms, saunas, and the new Elemis Boutique.
The ship’s casino received a layout overhaul, with new slot machines and table games. Youth areas were upgraded too, including new gaming stations in Camp Ocean, and a refreshed Arcade and Club O2 for teens.
Other enhancements include the addition of a Dream Studio for private photo sessions, a new High Spirits liquor store, and an updated Carnival Adventures desk for booking shore excursions. The onboard FUN Shops were also redesigned with new displays for an improved retail experience.
Accessibility improvements were also made, with enhanced public areas and updated accessible stateroom features to better accommodate guests with mobility needs.
Carnival Liberty’s return marks another step in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleetwide enhancement efforts focused on guest comfort, entertainment, and inclusivity.
