Wizz Air Expands Global Network with 950 Routes

Wizz Air, Hungary’s leading ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC), was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Budapest. The airline carried more than 63 million passengers in 2024–25 and now operates around 950 routes, linking destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia.

Renowned for its aggressive growth strategy, Wizz Air focuses on secondary airports to keep operating costs low and fares competitive. This model also allows the airline to reach underserved regions, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe, while offering affordable travel options across both leisure and business markets.

The carrier operates an all-Airbus fleet, primarily A320-family aircraft, with the A321neo playing a key role in supporting efficient, high-density operations. Wizz Air continues to expand rapidly, with recent additions in the Middle East and Central Asia, including routes to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. At the same time, it is reinforcing its presence in Western Europe through new services from the UK, Italy, and Spain.

Wizz Air is confirmed to attend the 2025 Routes World event in Hong Kong, where it is expected to explore new partnerships, evaluate expansion opportunities, and strengthen its position as one of the fastest-growing ULCCs in both established and emerging markets.
