Passenger Removed from American Airlines Flight After Telling Attendant to ‘Shut Up’

An American Airlines passenger was kicked off a Costa Rica–Dallas flight after telling a flight attendant to “shut up” during the pre-flight safety announcement, a viral video shows.

The footage, posted on Instagram, captures the woman interrupting the cabin crew and refusing to switch off her phone. The flight attendant confronted the traveler, saying, “Do you want to get off the plane? Because I don’t feel comfortable with you if you’re not going to follow instructions.” Moments later, the woman was escorted off the aircraft.

Her seatmate, Jay Crenshaw, who recorded the incident, said he empathized with both parties. “She was having a bad morning … but I think the passenger knows she was wrong,” he told The Post. “We’ve all had bad days and said bad things, but we weren’t filmed.”

American Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The incident adds to a series of recent passenger disruptions worldwide. In one case, a woman was removed from a New Zealand flight after cursing at staff and dancing in the aisle. On another flight from the UK to Dubai, a drunk traveler was restrained for hours after verbally abusing a crew member.
