Windstar Expands French Polynesia Cruises in 2027

Windstar Cruises will dramatically expand its presence in French Polynesia in 2027 by deploying two ships year-round—its most extensive South Pacific program to date. Beginning in March, the four-masted sailing yacht Wind Star will join the all-suite motor yacht Star Breeze to offer more choices and itineraries than ever before.
“Tahiti is part of our DNA, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our sailing yacht back to these legendary waters,” said Windstar Cruises president Christopher Prelog. “By offering the largest number of departures in Tahiti, we provide unparalleled flexibility and choice—whether you crave the romance of sailing under starry skies or the comfort of an all-suite yacht.”
The newly refreshed Wind Star accommodates 148 guests and will sail the 7-night “Dreams of Tahiti” itinerary every week with Monday departures. Meanwhile, Star Breeze will offer longer voyages to more remote locales including the Tuamotus, Marquesas, Fiji, and the Cook Islands. These can be combined into Star Collector Voyages of up to 21 days for an extended South Pacific experience.
Windstar is also adding new features in 2027. Ships will now arrive in Papeete at 8 p.m. the night before departure to allow for same-evening flight connections from Los Angeles. The line will debut simplified cruise-and-hotel packages for easy overwater bungalow stays and flexible flight options. Guests can also enjoy new AquaBanas—private floating lounges with sunshades, tables, and chairs—on the yachts’ marine platforms.
An Early Booking Offer through October 31 includes the best fares and suite selection, up to $200 in onboard credits, Windstar’s All-In package, and an extra 5 percent savings for paying in full at booking.
