IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its premium voco brand in Mexico with the signing of six new hotels slated to open in 2027. The properties, totaling 848 rooms, will be converted from existing hotels owned by Alliance Hotels and spread across six key locations: Cancun, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Torreon and Nuevo Laredo.

The voco brand focuses on stylish design, vibrant social spaces and welcoming service, appealing to travelers seeking personality-rich stays. Paul Adan, IHG’s Senior Vice President of Development for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, said the move marks a significant step in the brand’s regional growth. “Mexico is an ideal fit for the voco hotels brand,” he noted, adding that the combination of voco’s distinctive character with IHG’s global systems and loyalty program creates new opportunities for owners and elevates the guest experience.

IHG is increasingly prioritizing conversions to accelerate growth worldwide. Conversion properties accounted for 57% of its global room openings in the first half of this year, underscoring the efficiency of repurposing existing hotels under its brands.

With these six new voco hotels, IHG strengthens its footprint in Mexico’s fast-growing hospitality market and diversifies its offerings to domestic and international travelers. Industry observers say the expansion reflects rising demand for premium midscale accommodations that blend unique style with dependable global standards, positioning voco as a strong growth driver for IHG in Latin America.
