LATAM Group Places Major Order for Up to 74 Embraer E195-E2 Jets

LATAM Group has confirmed a landmark order for up to 74 Embraer E195-E2 regional jets as part of its strategy to strengthen regional and domestic operations. The deal, announced Monday, includes 24 firm orders and 50 purchase options, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.
Valued at approximately US$2.1 billion for the firm order alone, the investment is expected to support an increase of up to 35 new destinations across LATAM’s network, which already spans 160 cities through its various affiliates. Initially, the new E195-E2 aircraft will be deployed by LATAM Airlines Brasil, giving the group added flexibility to expand routes and frequencies within South America.
LATAM’s current fleet of 362 aircraft is dominated by Airbus and Boeing models, but the addition of Embraer’s next-generation jets marks a significant step toward diversifying capacity and tailoring aircraft size to route demand. The E195-E2 powered by the Pratt & Whitney PW1900G engine, offers lower fuel burn, reduced emissions, and a quieter cabin compared to previous-generation regional aircraft, making it well suited to LATAM’s environmental and economic goals.
According to LATAM CEO Roberto Alvo, the expanded fleet is intended to “increase connectivity and contribute to economic development” across the region. Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto highlighted the E195-E2’s fit for LATAM’s network strategy, calling it “the right aircraft to drive the group’s regional expansion goals.”
Deliveries beginning in 2026 will give LATAM greater schedule flexibility and allow the airline to fine-tune capacity across its growing network. The agreement underscores the group’s commitment to consolidating its position as South America’s leading carrier while adapting its fleet to meet evolving market demands and passenger expectations.
