The National Business Aviation Association has welcomed the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee’s vote advancing Michael Graham’s nomination for a second five-year term on the National Transportation Safety Board. The committee’s approval moves Graham’s nomination to the full Senate for confirmation.

Graham, first appointed to the NTSB in 2020, was nominated earlier this year by President Trump to continue his service. A strong advocate for aviation safety, he has built close ties with NBAA and the business aviation community, regularly engaging on industry safety initiatives.

Before joining the NTSB, Graham spent more than two decades at Textron Aviation, where he ultimately served as director of flight operations safety, security, and standardization. He launched the company’s Aviation Safety Action Program, which became a model for Part 91 operators. He has also chaired the NBAA Safety Committee’s Single Pilot Safety Working Group and the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s Board of Governors.

Graham’s career began in the U.S. Navy flying A-7s and F/A-18s. He developed an occupational safety and health program recognized with a Navy Achievement Medal and twice earned the Top Eleven Award for landing performance aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

A 10,000-hour pilot with an airline transport certificate, Graham is type rated in six Citation models and holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico. NBAA said his continued presence on the NTSB will strengthen oversight and enhance safety efforts across the aviation sector.
