Explorers Club Cruises with Paul Gauguin and Aqua

Paul Gauguin Cruises and Aqua Expeditions are joining forces with The Explorers Club to launch a series of expert-led voyages beginning in 2026. The program builds on the success of PONANT EXPLORATIONS, which has been offering these sailings since 2024, and will soon expand across all three cruise lines under the PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP banner.
For now, two departures have been announced aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin and four aboard Aqua Expeditions. PONANT EXPLORATIONS will add more than 15 sailings with The Explorers Club in 2026 and 2027, giving travelers a wide variety of opportunities to experience science-driven exploration at sea.
On these voyages, guests will be able to attend lectures from distinguished members of The Explorers Club and, when conditions allow, participate in hands-on citizen-science activities. For example, Paul Gauguin Cruises will feature an 11-night journey through the Society Islands and Tuamotus hosted by National Geographic photographer and author Jad Davenport. Aqua Expeditions will present a seven-night Peruvian Amazon sailing with Andrés Ruzo, a geothermal scientist, conservationist, and TED Speaker.
According to Samuel Chamberlain, CEO of the Americas for PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP, the partnership reflects the shared values of education, exploration, and advocacy. Each brand will deliver the voyages through its own unique lens, highlighting critical global topics such as climatology, biodiversity, and oceanography. These sailings aim to inspire deeper connections with the natural world while raising awareness of the importance of scientific exploration.
