Scenic Group has announced plans to launch its newest ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, the Scenic Ikon, in 2028. Designed for 270 guests, the vessel promises an immersive, expedition-style cruising experience that blends elegance with advanced exploration technology.

The 26,500-gross-ton yacht will measure 672 feet in length and feature 135 spacious suites, each with a private veranda. Guests can expect boutique-style accommodations complemented by 15 dining venues, expansive lounges, and a two-story spa. As with all Scenic voyages, the experience will be fully all-inclusive, featuring fine dining, premium beverages, and exclusive excursions.

Built for versatility, Scenic Ikon is Polar Code 6 certified and Ice Class 1A Super rated, enabling safe navigation through both polar and tropical regions. The yacht will also carry a custom Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, two Airbus helicopters, and Fassmer tenders for intimate exploration of remote destinations.

The ship’s inaugural voyage will depart from Venice in April 2028 and is already sold out. The first season will include itineraries across the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Egypt, as well as voyages to the Cape Verde Islands, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean Fjords.

Scenic Ikon has been conceived, engineered, and built by our in-house shipbuilding division at MKM Yachts and will be operated entirely by our dedicated Scenic crew,” said Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman of Scenic Group. “Every element of Scenic Ikon’s design has been optimized to deliver unrivaled experiences, from the Mediterranean to the wilds of Antarctica.”

The ship’s steel-cutting ceremony took place in February, followed by its keel laying in May at a Croatian shipyard. Delivery is expected by late 2027, marking the next chapter in Scenic’s evolution of luxury discovery cruising.
