American Cruise Lines to Launch 10 New Ships by 2028
American Cruise Lines has announced an ambitious expansion plan, with 10 new ships scheduled to join its fleet by 2028. The rollout will include five modern riverboats and four small-ship Patriot Class vessels, all designed to operate within U.S. waters.
The first of the new vessels, American Pioneer, is set to debut in Florida on October 31, 2025. Following that, the company will continue its expansion with new ships launching roughly every four months, maintaining what the cruise line calls a “disciplined growth trajectory.”
“American’s order book reflects our confidence in the domestic cruise market and the product we have pioneered in the U.S.,” said Charles B. Robertson, President and CEO of American Cruise Lines. “These new ships will strengthen our ability to offer diverse itineraries across America’s rivers and coastlines.”
The new vessels will sail itineraries across the Mississippi River, Alaska, and the East Coast. Here’s a look at the lineup through 2028:

- American Encore – Modern Riverboat, 2026
- American Maverick – Patriot Class, 2026
- American Ranger – Patriot Class, 2026
- American Anthem – Modern Riverboat, 2027
- American Mariner – Patriot Class, 2027

In addition to its fleet expansion, American Cruise Lines has introduced a new 15-day Northwest National Parks itinerary launching in September 2026. The journey includes seven days of guided land exploration through Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades National Parks, followed by an eight-day cruise through Puget Sound, Friday Harbor, and the San Juan Islands aboard American Constitution and American Constellation.
