Carnival Horizon Delivers Relief Supplies to Jamaica After Hurricane

Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Horizon called in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, this week with a shipment of essential supplies to support relief efforts following Hurricane Melissa. The delivery included bottled water, baby food, diapers, canned goods, cereal and hygiene products, which were handed over to Jamaica’s Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management with assistance from the Jamaica Tourism Cares Taskforce.
Several Jamaican crew members aboard Carnival Horizon also helped unload and distribute the items, reinforcing the cruise line’s connection to the local community.
Carnival Corporation further expanded its support by partnering with the Miami HEAT and the Micky & Madeleine Arison Family Foundation to donate $1 million to Direct Relief, aiding recovery and rebuilding efforts across the island.
“Jamaica has long been a beloved destination for Carnival guests thanks in large part to the warmth of its people,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We know the strength and resilience of Jamaicans will help carry them through this difficult time, and we look forward to returning with guests as soon as officials confirm the destination is ready. We are also supporting our many Jamaican crew members across the fleet during this challenging period.”
