Amex GBT to Launch New Egencia With Agentic AI Search

American Express Global Business Travel is preparing to debut a next-generation version of Egencia, introducing advanced agentic AI search and an upgraded user experience. The enhanced platform is set to launch in the first quarter of 2026, building on Egencia’s newly announced integration with SAP Concur Expense.

CEO Paul Abbott said the redesigned Egencia will deliver a more intuitive and intelligent search experience, leveraging agentic AI to streamline how business travelers find flights, hotels, and itineraries. The platform upgrade is part of Amex GBT’s broader strategic alliance with SAP Concur, which aims to unify travel and expense workflows for corporate customers. The companies recently rolled out Complete, the first integrated travel-and-expense solution for shared clients.

The developments come as Amex GBT benefits from the momentum of its CWT acquisition, finalized in September. The deal boosted third-quarter revenue to $674 million, up 13% year over year. Without CWT, revenue still rose 3%, meeting expectations. Transaction volume climbed 19% overall and 4% organically, driven equally by new clients and expanded activity from existing customers.

Total transaction value reached $9.5 billion, a 23% increase year over year. Excluding CWT, the value rose 9%, supported by higher ticket prices, elevated hotel rates, and modest FX tailwinds.

CFO Karen Williams said the company remains on track to achieve $155 million in synergies over three years from the CWT integration, including workforce efficiencies and vendor consolidation.

With CWT now fully integrated, Amex GBT projects 2025 revenue of up to $2.725 billion and expects roughly 20% growth in 2026. Abbott added that forward bookings for meetings and events have risen by double digits, signaling improving corporate travel confidence heading into 2026.
