Lufthansa Technik Launches VIP Cabin Upgrade Program for ACJ318 Elite

Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has introduced a comprehensive cabin upgrade programme for the Airbus ACJ318 Elite, the smallest VIP aircraft in the A320 family. The company’s VIP Centre of Excellence in Hamburg is now certified to deliver a range of modernisation options designed to bring the aircraft’s early-2000s interiors up to today’s luxury and technology standards.

LHT is uniquely positioned for this work, having originally designed and installed all ACJ318 Elite cabins between 2007 and 2015. The aircraft’s A320 fuselage allows for an exceptionally spacious layout, featuring dedicated dining, lounge and office zones, along with a private lavatory and bedroom. While most aircraft were delivered with a standard 19-passenger configuration, customers had wide latitude in selecting premium materials and finishes.

With 18 ACJ318 Elite aircraft currently in service across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, many owners are now looking to refresh ageing interiors and upgrade outdated systems. Lufthansa Technik’s enhancement options include new trim and finish packages, updated wood veneers, carpets and upholstery, and a complete overhaul of the in-flight entertainment system. Upgrades can integrate high-definition displays, improved audio solutions and the latest cabin management technology.

Connectivity options can also be modernised through the installation of ACJ Connect Link, a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) SatCom system developed by Airbus Corporate Jets using Gogo Galileo’s Full Duplex terminal. This upgrade delivers significantly faster, more reliable inflight connectivity for VIP travellers.
