US Grants Permits to Three European Business Jet Operators

The US Department of Transportation has issued tentative foreign air carrier permits and related exemptions to three European business aviation operators seeking to operate charter flights to the United States. The carriers include Platoon Aviation (PTN, Hamburg), SPARFELL Luxembourg (PGQ), and LUMINAIR (LUA, Hamburg), expanding transatlantic access for European charter operators.

Germany-based Platoon Aviation currently operates a fleet of twelve Pilatus PC-24 aircraft and did not disclose any fleet expansion or growth plans in its application. Luxembourg-based SPARFELL operates a single Gulfstream GVII-G500, positioning the company in the large-cabin, long-range charter segment.

LUMINAIR, also based in Hamburg, operates a mixed fleet comprising one Cessna Citation XLS, two Citation XLS+ aircraft, and two Dassault Falcon 900LX jets. The approvals highlight continued demand for transatlantic business aviation services and reinforce the United States as a key market for European charter operators.
