Grupo Posadas Expands Mexico and Caribbean Hotel Portfolio

Grupo Posadas, Mexico’s largest hotel operator, continues to expand its footprint across Mexico and the Caribbean as it targets further growth through 2026. The company currently operates more than 200 hotels with 29,922 rooms across urban and resort destinations and has a robust development pipeline focused on lifestyle, luxury, and city properties.
Posadas has 34 hotels in development, representing more than 4,800 rooms and a total investment exceeding USD880 million. The expansion reflects a long-term strategy centered on sustainable growth and brand evolution.
“Posadas is a company with over five decades of history that has evolved without losing its essence: innovation, excellence, and a deep commitment to Mexico,” said Javier Barrera, vice president of strategy and human capital. “We move forward with a clear vision toward 2026: grow with purpose, expand responsibly, and generate economic value with social, cultural, and environmental impact.”
In 2025, Posadas advanced its brand strategy with the launch of new platforms and experiences. These included Invitta, a culinary and mixology program developed with chef Gerardo Rivera to elevate restaurant and bar offerings, and the expansion of Esencia Viva, the group’s signature wellbeing program. The company also reinforced its luxury and lifestyle positioning across the Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, and Fiesta Americana brands.
New hotel openings in 2025 spanned multiple segments and destinations, including Devossion by Live Aqua Playa del Carmen, Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit, One Ciudad Juárez Alameda, Fiesta Americana Hacienda Ixtapan de la Sal, Gamma Toluca, Gamma Mazatlán Centro Histórico, Curamoria Casa Lucila Mazatlán, and Fiesta Inn Mérida Altabrisa.
Looking ahead to 2026, Posadas plans to further strengthen its presence in Mexico and the Caribbean with several high-profile projects. Upcoming openings include Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana, Live Aqua Centro Histórico, Grand Fiesta Americana Riviera Cancún, Fiesta Inn Querétaro Aeropuerto, One Mazatlán Centro Histórico, and Sunvivia by Fiesta Americana.
Among the most notable developments, Sunvivia Mazatlán by Fiesta Americana will debut the All in Joy concept, designed to blend wellbeing, entertainment, and family connection. The resort will feature 177 residential-style suites across four oceanfront towers, multiple pools and jacuzzis, diverse dining venues, expansive meeting facilities, and comprehensive spa and wellness offerings.
