Cirrus has reached a major milestone with the delivery of its 11,000th SR Series aircraft, underscoring the company’s long-standing focus on innovation, safety, quality, and customer experience in personal aviation.

The milestone aircraft is an SR Series G7+, the latest evolution of Cirrus’ best-selling high-performance single-engine piston lineup. The SR Series family, which includes the SR20, SR22, and turbocharged SR22T, first entered service in 1999 and has remained the top-selling aircraft in its segment for more than two decades. Its broad appeal spans experienced aviators, student pilots, and individuals new to flying, driven by Cirrus’ emphasis on safety, intuitive design, and an accessible ownership pathway.

The SR Series G7+ stands out by featuring Safe Return Emergency Autoland as standard equipment. The system is the world’s first FAA-certified autonomous emergency landing technology available on a single-engine piston aircraft. With the push of a button, Safe Return can be activated by anyone in the cabin, guiding the aircraft to a suitable nearby airport and performing a fully autonomous landing in the event of pilot incapacitation or a similar emergency.

“Delivering 11,000 SR Series aircraft is an incredible milestone for Cirrus,” said CEO Zean Nielsen. He noted that Cirrus is now the third-largest aircraft manufacturer globally, with technologies such as the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), Perspective Touch+ avionics, and Safe Return Emergency Autoland continuing to set industry benchmarks and enhance pilot confidence.

To mark the occasion, the 11,000th aircraft features a one-of-one commemorative design created by the Cirrus Xi Design Studio. The aircraft showcases a dark green Monteverde exterior with the number eleven prominently displayed on the fuselage, tail, and cabin. Inside, premium materials, including Vision Green and Concrete Alcantara and matte carbon fiber accents, create a refined and distinctive interior.

Beyond Autoland, the SR Series G7+ introduces additional safety and convenience enhancements for 2025. Automatic database updates powered by Cirrus IQ PRO allow avionics data to update via Wi-Fi or LTE while the aircraft is powered off. Runway Occupancy Awareness uses ADS-B data to alert pilots to potential runway conflicts, while Smart Pitot Heat automates pitot heat operation based on temperature conditions, reducing pilot workload.

With more than 19 million fleet flight hours and 280 lives saved through CAPS, Cirrus continues to shape the future of personal aviation, combining advanced technology with safety-driven design and everyday usability.
