MSC Magnifica to Sail 115-Day World Cruise in 2028

MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its 2028 World Cruise aboard MSC Magnifica, offering travelers a 115-day global voyage that will call at 40 destinations across 29 countries. The sailing is positioned as one of the line’s most ambitious itineraries to date, combining extended time ashore with a wide-ranging route that spans multiple continents and cultures.
Ahead of the world cruise, MSC Magnifica is undergoing a significant renovation program scheduled for completion by the end of the year. The refurbishment is designed to enhance onboard comfort and amenities, ensuring the vessel is fully prepared for the demands of a multi-month global journey and aligned with MSC Cruises’ evolving product standards.
Guests will be able to embark on the 2028 World Cruise from four European ports at the start of January. Departure options include Civitavecchia and Genoa in Italy, Marseille in France, and Barcelona in Spain, with embarkation dates set for January 4, 5, 6, and 7 respectively. This flexible embarkation approach allows travelers to join the voyage from several major Mediterranean gateways.
A key highlight of the itinerary is the inclusion of seven overnight stays, allowing for deeper exploration of marquee destinations. These include Lima, Peru; Papeete, Tahiti; Sydney, Australia; and Hanoi, Vietnam, giving guests extended time to experience local culture, cuisine, and landmarks without the rush of same-day port calls.
The 2028 sailing also introduces a number of destinations that are new to MSC world cruise itineraries. Among them are Nuku’alofa in Tonga, Manta in Ecuador, Arica in Chile, Callao in Peru, Chan May in Vietnam, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Grand Turk Island in the Turks and Caicos, Hanga Roa on Easter Island, and Puerto Limón in Costa Rica. Together, these ports add variety and regional depth across the Pacific, South America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia.
As part of the cruise fare, guests will receive a range of value-added inclusions designed to enhance the long-haul experience. These include 15 complimentary shore excursions, a “Dine & Drink” beverage package, and a 30 percent discount on laundry services. MSC Voyagers Club Classic members will also benefit from access to the exclusive MSC Yacht Club, offering private areas, personalized service, and an elevated onboard experience.
On board, MSC Magnifica features five restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, a theater, casino, panoramic observation spaces, the MSC Aurea Spa, a fitness center, and a range of sports facilities, making it well suited for an extended world voyage at sea.
