Holland America Unveils 2027–28 Hawaii Cruises

Holland America Line has unveiled nearly three dozen itineraries for the 2027–28 cruise season, spanning Hawaii, Mexico, the Panama Canal and the Pacific Coast. Sailings will operate from October through April aboard Koningsdam, Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam and Zaandam, with departures from five North American homeports.
The expanded deployment offers a wide range of voyage lengths and regional experiences. According to Paul Grigsby, vice president of itinerary planning and deployment, the season is designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of travelers, from sun-seekers in Hawaii to nature enthusiasts exploring the Great Bear Rainforest.
Hawaii itineraries feature 17- and 18-day Circle Hawaii voyages aboard Koningsdam and Zaandam, with calls at Nawiliwili (Kauai), Honolulu (Oahu), Kahului (Maui), and both Kona and Hilo on the Big Island. Select departures include overnight stays and extended calls of up to 40 hours in Honolulu, as well as stops in Ensenada, Mexico. Guests can visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, black-sand beaches and lush rainforests, while participating in Hawaii Up Close cultural programming focused on agriculture, native arts, geology and local history.
Panama Canal voyages range from 14 to 22 days and provide a full transit experience through the Gatun, Pedro Miguel and Miraflores locks. Highlights include calls at Cartagena, Puerto Quetzal, Puntarenas and Cabo San Lucas, along with options to sail between Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, Seattle and Vancouver. Shore excursions emphasize UNESCO World Heritage sites, Mayan archaeological landmarks and wildlife-rich rainforest destinations.
Mexico itineraries offer flexible options from five to 12 days, including Mexican Riviera and Baja Peninsula sailings. Roundtrip departures from San Diego aboard Koningsdam include holiday cruises and extended Sea of Cortez voyages with calls at Loreto, La Paz, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. Zaandam will also operate Pacific Coast and Historical Baja itineraries connecting Vancouver and San Diego.
The Pacific Coast season features one- to seven-day sailings, including the return of the seven-day Great Bear Rainforest cruise roundtrip from Vancouver in April 2028. These voyages spotlight British Columbia’s fjord-like waterways, wildlife viewing and port calls such as Ketchikan, Prince Rupert and Victoria.
With diverse cruise itineraries across four regions, Holland America Line’s 2027–28 season reinforces its focus on destination-rich, longer voyages and curated shore experiences across North America and beyond.
