A video of an airline worker putting tape on a Spirit Airlines plane has gone viral on social media, leaving viewers baffled.

The video, which was posted on TikTok by myhoneysmacks, shows the worker conducting quick maintenance on the aircraft’s left wing while sitting on the tarmac at Nashville International Airport. Passengers on the plane looked on as the worker applied the tape.

In the video, the TikToker expressed shock and disbelief, stating that she would not fly with Spirit Airlines because the airline had to tape its planes together. Despite some users commenting that every airline uses Speed Tape for minor repairs, the video creator remained unconvinced.

Speed Tape is an aluminum-backed adhesive that is commonly used to make quick repairs on aircraft and race cars. Although some viewers may have been alarmed by the use of tape, it is a standard practice in the aviation industry for minor repairs.
