A4A applauds path to safely reopening international travel
The White House plans to implement individual risk-based measures for non-US citizens traveling to the US, providing a pathway for the safe reopening of international travel. Beginning in November, travelers will be required to provide proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of their departure to the US. Airlines for America President and CEO Nicholas Calio applauded the step saying, “US airlines have been strong advocates for a stringent, consistent policy and are eager to safely reunite the countless families, friends and colleagues who have not seen each other in nearly two years, if not longer. Today’s announcement marks a positive step in our nation’s recovery, and we look forward to working with the Administration over the coming weeks to implement this new global system.”
