A4A applauds “vital” payroll support for US airlines

Airlines for America applauded final congressional approval of $14 billion in direct payroll support for airlines, saying the relief “is vital to have our employees on the job and ready to assist as our nation prepares to move forward from this crisis.” Following the final congressional passage, American Airlines and United Airlines withdrew 27,000 employee furlough warnings. In a letter to employees, American Airlines said: “For our 13,000 colleagues who received Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notices last month, those are happily canceled — you can tear them up!”
