A4A Chief Economist John Heimlich said in an appearance on the podcast Airlines Confidential that US carriers anticipate “a meaningful pick-up in domestic business travel in the fall.” As for what it will take for international travel to recover, John said, “Clearly, it’s lifting some of these either unilateral, bilateral restrictions on travel because it doesn’t matter how much demand there is, no one wants to quarantine 14 days or can afford either to be away from their family, their business or spend that much money on a hotel.”
