Boeing 737 conversion Airbnb

Entrepreneur Steven Northam has converted an abandoned 1968 Boeing 737-200 jet into an Airbnb holiday rental named ‘Marwell High Club’ after the nearby Marwell Zoo.

The 29ft-long, five-ton front fuselage of the plane was purchased for $6,165 on eBay and then transported from Chichester College, West Sussex, where it had been used to train airline crew. Northam spent $18,480 converting the fuselage, which has two levels and comes with cooking facilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, XBoxes, and a heat pump to control temperatures.

A flight simulator was also installed with a large, curved monitor where the cockpit is normally located. The jet comes with its original seats, overhead bin lockers and restroom. There is a hot tub outside the plane made from the inlet cowling of a plane engine. Northam plans to advertise the holiday rental on Airbnb once he has planning permission, likely charging $185.70 a night.
