Aeroflot reactivates Boeing and Airbus aircraft
Aeroflot is reportedly planning to reactivate 12 aircraft that it had placed in storage last year, including a mix of Boeing 777, Boeing 737-800, A321, and A350 planes, according to reports in the Russian media. Two of the aircraft have already returned to service.
The move comes after the Russian Ministry of Transportation announced the extension of the subsidy program for domestic flights. Aeroflot, whose fleet primarily consists of Western-made Airbus and Boeing jets, currently faces difficulties accessing parts and spares directly from the OEMs, leading to alternative solutions such as sending planes for maintenance to Iran.
